Welcome to Candles by Thom.
Each Container Candle is Heavily Scented.

What is different about Candles by Thom?
If you are like me and enjoy quality scented candles you are tired of paying those high prices.  Most regular store bought candles smell good in the store when your nose is pressed close to them but they may not throw a good scent when you get them home.  If you purchase a high priced candle you may get that beautiful scent but you paid a high price for it.  Well, I looked at how much this hobby of mine costs me and determined that there was no reason for these high costs.  I can produce a container candle that throws the same or similar scent for up to 50% off the prices I have seen in the store or online.  This was my inspiration to start Candles by Thom.

At present I carry either 5, 10, 16, and 26 ounce standard apothecary or 34 ounce victorian apothecary glass jars each with glass lids.  Each is filled with your choice of a variety of scents in stock or some 250+ additional scents that can be special ordered.  Each candle is Heavily Scented and custom made per order.  I do not mass prepare and store candles for future sale.  This way you know you receive a freshly made candle.   Scents are purchased in small quantities helping to insure quality of the product.

Why candles?
I have always loved the smell of scented candles burning and container candles throw a better scent then a "pillar" style candle.  There are a couple different ways to "throw" a candle scent.  The first and most common is by burning the wick.  A very traditional way of enjoying a candle.  But there is a second way now.  A small candle warmer such as in the photo below melts the wax in the container.  Once the candle is heated to the melting point the scent is released.  Without the flame this is a safer way of throwing a scent then burning a candle.  After having looked around and found several different plastic candle warmers I eventually found a supplier that has ceremic warmers with a built in on/off switch on the cord and an indicator light on the warmer.  Below is a photo of a candle warmer with a 16 ounce candle that has had the wick removed.  Yes, a wickless candle.
